John Rideout, age 78, of Henderson, KY

2cloudsHENDERSON, Ky. - John Rideout, age 78, of Henderson, KY, passed away at 2:48 PM, Monday, June 10, 2013, at Deaconess Hospital.

Mr. Rideout worked for over 25 years as a truck driver for Rideout Wrecker Service. He was also a Deputy Sheriff in Henderson County and worked a short while for the Henderson Police Department. John was also a member of Countryview General Baptist Church. He had been married to his wife Enona for 10 years.

John was preceded in death by his sons Thomas W. Rideout and James A. Rideout.

Survivors include: Wife: Enona Cook Rideout; One Daughter: Jan McGuire and her husband, Joseph McGuire, Jr.; Grandchildren: Lisa Jo McGuire Cox, Donald Wayne McGuire (and his wife, Jamie), and Stacey McGuire; Great-Grandchildren: Breeanna Janiece Cox, Cody Wayne McGuire, Brandi McGuire, Wade McGuire, Brittany Jeck (and her husband, James), T.J. McGuire (and his wife, Alyssa), and Ashley McGuire; Great-Great-Grandchildren: Amiyah, Natalie, Maliyah, Akeelah, and Addilyn; One Son: Jeffery B. Scott Rideout and his wife, Lori Rideout; Grandchildren: Justin Anderson, Bethany Chandler, and Katie Anderson; Great-Grandchildren: Briana, Alli, Lindsie, Hunter, Gracie, Colton, Loren, Matthew, and Kaden; Grandchildren (Children of Thomas W. Rideout): Amie Gibson (and her husband, Chad), Erin Spence (and her husband, Rodney), and Kristen Crook (and her husband, David); Great-Grandchildren: Bryce, Brooklyn, Bradyn, Tanner, Jace, Laci, Brock; Grandchildren (Children of James A. Rideout): Kelly Anderson , David Rideout, Jonathan Rideout, Genelle Rideout; Two Step-Daughters: Stella Willhite and her husband, David Willhite, Lisa Alvey and her husband, Greg Alvey; Four Step-Sons: Rodney Newman and his wife, Linda Newman, Robert Newman and his wife, Cheri Newman, James Pleasant, Mark Pleasant; Step Grandchildren: Cheri Jo Harris and her husband Nathan Harris, Rodney Newman, Bobbi Jo Newman, Matt Willhite and his wife Samantha, Nora Burgess and her husband Mo Burgess, Andrew Pleasant and his wife Jennifer, Teha Pleasant, Debra Redwine, Michele White, Angie Miller, Jennifer Miller, Zachary Pleasant, Destiny Pleasant; 6 Step Great-Grandchildren; One Sister: Martha Jean Shirkey and her husband, Melvin Shirkey; One Brother: Paul "Pee Wee" Rideout and wife, Dorothy Rideout.

Relatives and friends are invited to John Rideout's Life Celebration from 5:00-8:00 PM Thursday, June 13, 2013 and again on Friday starting at 11:00 AM at Tapp Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home with Brother Gary Ashby officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Henderson, KY.
