Evernee Weaver Collins, age 90, of Henderson, KY

5flowerHENDERSON, Ky. - Evernee Weaver Collins, age 90, of Henderson, KY, passed away at 4:30 AM, Thursday, June 13, 2013, at her daughter's home under the care of St. Anthony's Hospice.

Mrs. Collins was born in Rural Louisiana; her parents lived on Crawford Plantation and worked hard to raise cotton. At an early age her father started working in oil field production at Butler & Sons and moved the family to Oil City, LA. She met and married her first husband Rev. Donal D. Weaver when she was 18. The family moved to KY in 1947. Evernee stayed at home to raise her family and be a full time homemaker. After Donal's death in 1978, she began working for Pantry Corporation. Evernee married Rev. William C. Collins in 1989.

Her most enduring contribution has been the way she was a mother to so many in her family and church. Evernee was a Sunday School teacher and took care of Children's Church.

She was preceded in death by parents Edward & Mary Martin, first husband Rev. Donal D. Weaver, second husband Rev. William C. Collins, one son Duane Weaver, and 5 brothers and sisters.

Survivors include: 2 Daughters: Elizabeth Lofton and husband Wayne Henderson, KY, Sherry Weaver Phoenix, AZ; 1 Son: Jerry Weaver Honolulu, HI; 1 Sister: Sadie Barber and husband James Bossier City, LA; 10 Grandchildren; 15 Great Grandchildren; 18 Great Great-Grandchildren; Nieces and Nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to Evernee's Life Celebration from 10:00 AM till service time on Monday, June 17, 2013 at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday at the funeral home with the Reverend Hollis Marshall officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Henderson, KY.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to: St. Anthony's Hospice
