Ruby Catherine Nunn, age 88, of Henderson, KY

heartcloudHENDERSON, Ky. - Ruby Catherine Nunn, age 88, of Henderson, KY, passed away at 4:40 AM, Sunday, June 30, 2013, at her home.

Ruby was a homemaker who loved quilting and cross stitching. She enjoyed spending time rocking her babies and spending time with her grandkids. They loved her mashed potatoes. She was known for her banana pudding. She also enjoyed spending time snapping green beans and doing cross word puzzles. Some of her favorite things were Mellow Yellow and strawberry ice cream. She was a member of Hyland Baptist Church.

Ruby was preceded in death by husband James L. Nunn on November 20, 1971 and her parents, Henry and Nellie Thurby. Also, she was preceded by her son James L. Nunn, Jr. and grandson Melvin R. Cain, Jr.

Survivors include: 5 Daughters: Glenda Hook and Husband Charles Henderson, KY, Marilyn Cain and Husband Melvin Gold Beach, OR, Rita Boling and Husband Larry Henderson, KY, Cindy Evans and Husband Jeff Little Dixie, KY, Kim Wright and Husband Frank Henderson, KY; 2 Sons: Danny Nunn and Wife Emily Maryville, TN, Ronnie Nunn and Wife Donna Henderson, KY; 3 Sisters: Virginia Cooper Henderson, KY, Mary Jones Kattawa, KY, Grace Todd Flordia; 1 Brother: CW Thurby and Wife Shirley Henderson, KY; 23 Grandchildren; 32 Great Grandchildren; 1 Great Great Grandchild; Nieces and Nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to Ruby Nunn's Life Celebration from 2:00 to 8:00 pm Tuesday, July 2, 2013 and again on Wednesday from 9:00 am until service time at Benton Glunt Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday at the funeral home with Reverend Kenny Kidd officiating. Burial will follow at Cash Creek Cemetery in Henderson County, KY.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to: Hyland Baptist Church Christian Outreach or Backpack Ministries.
