David Lee (Brownie) Blair, age 58, of Henderson, KY

1sunsetHENDERSON, Ky. - David Lee (Brownie) Blair, age 58, of Henderson, KY passed away on Friday, July 26, 2013 in Henderson, KY.

David and his family moved to Sebree from his birthplace, Christopher, Illinois. In his teens David played in the band C B Rod Iron. He enjoyed music but especially rock n roll and often spoke of the fun they had playing with the band. He was married to Connie Cummings Blair for 13 years. Family spoke of how much David loved people and never met a stranger. He would do anything for anybody. David got a kick out of teasing people and was always joking around. He loved animals of all kinds and rescued many over the years. David was loyal to his dog and cat and always kept his hummingbird feeders filled. He was a past hunter, volunteer fire fighter and E.M.T. in Webster County. His past time included tinkering with air conditioners and lawn mowers. If he couldn't repair it he would keep in case he could use the parts later. He worked for Mulzer Crushed Stone in Henderson and Evansville for over 20 years. David was employed at Methodist Hospital and was a member of New Life Missionary Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William E. and Rosemary Shaw Blair and a brother, William Blair.

Survivors include: Wife: Connie Blair Henderson, KY; 1 Daughter: Leslie A. Wilkes and husband Chris Sebree, KY; 1 Sister: Debra Wood Henderson, KY; 1 Brother: Ronnie Blair and wife Cathi Henderson, KY; 2 Granddaughters: Breanna Adamson and Adrianna Lopez, Nieces and Nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to David Blair's Life Celebration from 2:00-8:00 PM on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 and again after 10:00 AM on Wednesday at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home. Funeral . Funeral Services will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday. Reverend Randy Durham will officiate. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Henderson, KY.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to: Alzheimer's Association.
