HENDERSON, Ky. - James W. Tapp, age 87 of Henderson, KY. passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville, Indiana.
James was born 1926 in Webster County to Jesse and Willie (Callis) Tapp. He was a US Navy Veteran.
He was a member of Poole Masonic Lodge and was awarded his 60 year pin in 2011. James also was a Rizpah Shriner and a proud member of the Four Wheeler Club. He loved driving the little car in parades and giving his grandchildren rides afterwards. He was a very active member of Hyland Baptist Church where he served as deacon. James enjoyed working in the oil fields and many people may remember him from Ken's Pump and Supply.
In addition to his parents he was preceded by a brother: Raymond Tapp.
Survivors include: Wife of 67 years: Marjorie Tapp of Henderson, Ky; 2 Daughters: Terri Brown and husband Ricky, Tammy Storey and husband Kirk all of Henderson, Ky; 3 Grandchildren: Joseph Storey of Evansville, Heather Husk and husband Jacob of Henderson, Ky, Jami Storey of Bowling Green, Ky; 2 Great Grandchildren: Allena Jo Storey of Evansville, In, Charlie Husk of Henderson, Ky; Cousin: Mary Jane Royster; Sister-In-Law: Ruby Tapp; 2 Nephews: Jerry Tapp and Ricky Tapp.
Relatives and friends are invited to James's Life Celebration from 4:00-8:00 PM Thursday, August 1, 2013 and again on Friday starting 9:00 AM at Tapp Funeral Home, Henderson, KY. The funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Friday at the funeral home with Reverend Kenny Kidd officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Henderson, Ky. where military honors will be rendered by the American Legion Worsham Post #40.
