Convention Center Gives Update On Construction Project

oboro conv ctr 300OWENSBORO, Ky. (9/13/13) -- The Owensboro Convention Center is well on its way to its January 2014 opening with new construction projects popping up every few weeks.

The newest project is the pouring of the concrete flooring of the 92,000 sq. ft multi-purpose center. This is one of the biggest projects of the building process, according to Madison Strobel, Marketing and Public Relations Manager of the Owensboro Convention Center.

“It’s a big milestone for us,” Strobel said. “A lot of stuff will happen on that floor.”

The convention center is a full-service facility overlooking the Ohio River in the newly revitalized downtown area of Owensboro. The project has brought many new restaurants, bars, and shops, and Owensboro is expecting huge revenue numbers to the downtown area after the convention’s opening.

SurfKY will continue to provide updated information and photos as the project develops.
