MADISONVILLE, Ky. (11/6/13) - The Madisonville Fire Department released the following reports Nov. 6.
On Wednesday, Nov. 5, at approximately 1:36 p.m., the MFD received alarm from Central Dispatch for a small brush fire at the junction of West Noel Avenue and Rose Creek Road. Upon arrival Engine-3 crew encountered a small brush fire approximately eight foot wide and 25 foot long, with most of that area already burned and not much actual flames working. The fire was extinguished with flapper tools and water extinguishers. All hot spots were extinguished and the scene was deemed safe. No further actions were taken and unit returned to station.
On Wednesday, Nov. 5, at approximately 2:07 p.m., the MFD received an alarm from Central Dispatch for a brush fire on Dulin Street. Arriving units found three smoldering hot spots where there had been a small grass fire. Residents from across the street had used a garden hose to put out most of the small fire. Firefighters used a 50 foot section of 1 3/4 hose to finish extinguishing the fire and soak down the area. The scene was deemed safe and all units returned to quarters.
