Murray State University Recruiters to Return to DCHS

dcps1 300OWENSBORO, Ky. (2/4/14) – Three Daviess County High School graduates will return to the hallways of DCHS on Tuesday, Feb. 18, representing the Murray State University “Racer Roundup” program.

DCHS alumni Jim Carter, who now serves as vice president for institutional advancement at MSU; John Wells, an MSU faculty member in the Occupational Safety and Health program; and Melanie McCallon, Associate Director for Education Abroad, will meet from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. with DCHS seniors who have been accepted to Murray State University or are interested in applying.

The MSU team will distribute applications, answer questions and offer encouragement and information about their own experiences in transitioning from Daviess County High School to Murray State University.
 
From 2:05 p.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 18, the MSU team will meet with DCHS juniors who are interested in becoming future Racers; are interested in studying abroad; or who have demonstrated high aptitude in science, which may make them eligible for a job with OSHA, earning an annual starting salary of $60-70,000.
 
The visit is being coordinated by Susan Colbert, who serves as College and Career Readiness Counselor at Daviess County High School.
