Ila L. ‘Laddie’ Brashear, Jr., 72, Henderson, Ky.

HENDERSON, Ky. (4/10/14) — Ila L. "Laddie" Brashear, Jr., 72, of Henderson, Ky., passed away 11:54 a.m., Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at Deaconess Downtown Hospital, Evansville, Ind.

He was born March 16, 1942 in Sturgis, Ky. He graduated from Sturgis High School. While he was in school he enjoyed writing poetry. He was a salesman and he was the part owner of Brashear Tire. His favorite pastime was reading.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ila and Imogene Brashear, brother David T. Brashear and two sisters Norma Brashear and Betty McCullum.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Patsy Blanford Brashear of Henderson, Ky., one son, David Wayne Brashear and wife Carla of Clay, Ky., three brothers, Jimmy Brashear, Eddie Brashear and wife Debbie all of Morganfield, Ky. and Richard Brashear and wife Norma of Fla., granddaughter, Hailie Brashear and nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to Ila "Laddie" Brashear’s Life Celebration from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, and again Saturday starting 9 a.m. until service time at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home, Henderson, Ky. The funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, April 12, 2014 at the funeral home with the Brother Rick Daniel officiating. Burial will follow at St. Louis Cemetery in Henderson, Ky.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to: New Hope Animal Rescue Center and/or Humane Society of Henderson County
