Farmer’s Market Association Growing, Excited About New Home

muh-farm-marketGREENVILLE, Ky. (7/16/14) — The Muhlenberg County's Farmers Market Association is looking forward to having a permanent location.

On Tuesdays, members of the Muhlenberg County Farmers Markets are selling local produce at 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Greenville and at Second Street in Central City on Thursdays. On Saturdays, they offer their fresh produce beginning at 8 a.m. in the parking lot at First Kentucky Bank in Greenville.

The association only sells farm fresh produce grown in Muhlenberg County with no outside goods allowed. John Winn is the president of the association and is very proud of the local farmers that make their products available to the community.

Winn pointed out the various kinds of product available at the market, including locally produced honey. While the farmers move to the different locations to sell their products at present, a new building is being constructed near the Muhlenberg County Agricultural Center in Powderly to be the group’s permanent home.

Winn said the group is looking forward to using the new facilities.
