HENDERSON, KY - Austin Henry Wilford, 67, Henderson, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2011, at his home.

He was retired from the Union County Board of Education, a member of First Missionary Baptist Church and a U.S. Navy veteran.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Brewer Wilford, and his parents, Napolean and Myrtie Wharton Wilford.

Survivors include one daughter, Angela Renee Wilford of Paris, Tenn.; one stepson, Keith Brewer of Henderson; one brother, Jackie Wilford of Henderson; one stepsister, Jessica Dugger of Atlanta; five stepbrothers, Tony Pettus, Morgan Pettus, Donnie Pettus, the Rev. Paul Pettus and Lawrence Pettus, all of Hopkinsville; and one grandchild.

Services will be at 1 p.m. today at First Missionary Baptist Church in Henderson. The Rev. Robert A. Esters will officiate. Burial will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West in Hopkinsville.

Friends may call after 11 a.m. today at the church.

Adams and Sons Mortuary in Hopkinsville is in charge of arrangements.
