obit19HENDERSON, KY - Joseph Arron Floyd, 67, passed away Sunday, Nov. 6, 2011, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Evansville.

He worked for the Earle C. Clements Job Corps Academy for more than 20 years and later for Vanderburgh County as a correctional officer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elymus and Mary Floyd; and one daughter, Cecila.

Survivors include his wife of 18 years, Tecora Douglas Floyd; his caregiver, Cheryl K. Moore; one daughter, Deamber Floyd of St. Petersburg, Fla.; five sons, DeAndre Floyd, Mark Brown, Rudolph Brown, Charles Ellis and Tyrus Shelby, all of Evansville; two brothers, Earl Floyd and Letcher Floyd, both of Evansville; grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Nazarene Missionary Baptist Church in Evansville. The Rev. Earl Floyd will officiate.
