Katherine Dennis, 78, Henderson

 

obit18HENDERSON, KY - Katherine Dennis, 78, Henderson, went to be with the Lord at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, 2011, at Select Specialty Hospital in Evansville.

She was a member of Little Canaan Baptist Church in Henderson, where she served on the Mothers Board. She worked in the dietary services department at Community Methodist Hospital in her earlier years and later retired as a housekeeper. Katherine enjoyed being around people and always loved telling about the goodness of the Lord. She often maintained a positive attitude even throughout her 14 years of dialysis treatments and other illnesses as she never complained.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Dennis Sr.; one son, Harry "Buster" Dennis; one brother, Montgomery Carter Jr.; and her parents, Montgomery and Ida Mae Carter.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories one daughter, Louise Watson and her husband, Theodore, of Henderson; one son, Lawrence Dennis Jr. of Henderson; one sister, Bernice Dennis of Henderson; three sisters-in-law, Lois Besters of Evansville and Estella Posey and Frances Dennis, both of Henderson; four grandchildren, Karen Watson, Ricky Watson, Svonne Chester and Shay Easley; three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and her Little Canaan Baptist Church family.

Services will be at noon Saturday at Little Canaan Baptist Church in Henderson. Pastor Willie Ellis will officiate. Burial will be in Fernwood Cemetery.

Friends may call for wake services from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the church.

Mason Brothers Audubon Chapel in Henderson is in charge of arrangements.
