CAIRO, KY - Charles Leroy Snider, 84, Cairo, died at 5:34 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 24, 2011, at Methodist Hospital.
He was a member of Cairo United Methodist Church. Charles had worked for Peerless Pottery for 23½ years and retired from Peabody Coal after 15 years. He was a Korean War U.S. Army veteran and was a member of Jerusalem Masonic Lodge No. 9.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Carrie Kavanaugh Snider; one sister; and two brothers.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Naomi Stewart Snider; two sons, Gregory Allen Snider and his wife, Marcia, of Ballwin, Mo., and Mark Eugene Snider and his wife, Tina, of Columbus, Ind.; one sister, Helen Stevenson of Cairo; one brother, Carl Snider of Henderson; three grandchildren, Audrey Kate Snider, Grace Evelyn Snider and Kelsey Nicole Snider; nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home. The Rev. Mark Jones will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday and until service time Monday at the funeral home, where Masonic services will be performed by Jerusalem Masonic Lodge No. 9 at 5 p.m. Sunday.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Cairo United Methodist Church.
