Donald Elbert Adkins, age 75, of Henderson, KY

blueskyHENDERSON, KY - Donald Elbert Adkins, age 75, of Henderson, KY, passed away at 2:59 p.m., Saturday, December 3, 2011, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN.

He was a Christian, and a loving husband and father. Mr. Adkins was a brick mason and a farmer. He attended Watson Lane Baptist Church and was a member of Jerusalem Lodge #9.

Mr. Adkins was preceded in death by his father and mother, Clyde E. and Goldie Davenport Adkins, and a brother, Clyde Adkins, Jr.

He is survived by: Wife of 52 years, Phyllis DeKemper Adkins Henderson, KY; 2 Sons: Kenneth Adkins and his wife Cindy Henderson, KY, Terry Adkins and his wife, Julie Henderson, KY; 1 Daughter: Beth Croxton and her husband, Larry Henderson, KY; 6 Grandsons: Derrick Croxton, Andy Adkins, Jacob Adkins, Eric Adkins, Joshua Adkins and Lucas Adkins; 1 Great Granddaughter, Kenley Croxton; 2 sisters; Delores Todd both of Henderson, KY; Joyce Owens; 1 Brother: Jimmy Adkins Bonita Springs, FL.

Funeral Services for Donald Elbert Adkins will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home, Henderson, KY. Rev. Brad Harrison will officiate. Burial will be in Fernwood Cemetery, Henderson, KY.

Friends may call from 3-8 p.m. on Monday, December 5, 2011 and 9:00 A.M. until service time on Tuesday at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home, Henderson, KY. A Masonic Service will be held at 7:00 P.M. Monday evening by the Jerusalem Lodge #9.

Pallbearers will be grandsons.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to: American Heart Association or Watson Lane Baptist Church.
