Ernest Walker, 76, Henderson

obit2HENDERSON, KY - Ernest Walker, 76, Henderson, a beloved husband and father, went home to be with the Lord at 5:15 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2, 2011, at Lucy Smith King Care Center.

Mr. Walker attended First Assembly of God Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He loved hunting, fishing, playing guitar and singing. His hobby was a 1964 ½ Mustang Convertible.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Walker Sr. and Hattie Edna Walker; and a brother, James H. Walker.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Betty Walker; five daughters, Pamela Hightower, Sue Meuth and her husband, Richie, Ylonda Nall and her husband, Rob, Rebecca Griffin and Tonia Walker Tow and her husband, Frank Jr.; one sister, Dorothy Ledbetter; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Tapp Funeral Home. The Rev. Kevin Stone will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, with full military rites performed by the American Legion Worsham Post No. 40.

Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday and after 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Anthony's Hospice.

Pallbearers will be Richie Meuth, Rob Nall, Frank Tow Jr., Ryan Walker, Derick Fulkerson, Brock Hays and Barrett Griffin.
