Winifred Ellis Liford, 86, Henderson

 

obit6HENDERSON, KY - Winifred Ellis Liford, 86, Henderson, passed away at 11:10 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011, at the Lucy Smith King Care Center.

She was born June 13, 1925, in Jenson, Ky., to Emmitt and Florence Lasley Ellis.

She a member of Calvary Pentecostal Church in Sebree and was a retired medicine aide at Colonial Terrace Nursing Home.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Clinton Liford; 10 brothers and sisters; and one grandson, Jerrad Liford.

Survivors include four children, Steve Liford and his wife, Diana, of Troy, Mo., and Carol Liford, Tim Liford and Pam Berry and her husband, Eddie, all of Henderson; two brothers, Ernest Ellis of Hamilton, Ohio, and Woodrow Ellis and his wife, Tommie, of Middlesboro, Ky.; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Calvary Pentecostal Church in Sebree. Brother Eddie Berry will officiate. Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Tomblinson Funeral Home Henderson Chapel and after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Anthony's Hospice.

Pallbearers will be Clinton Berry, Mitchell Berry, Justin Liford, Shawn Liford, Dan Herron and J.J. Alstadt.
