Dorothy Lee (Nene) Brown, 91, Henderson

 

3flowerHENDERSON, KY - Dorothy Lee (Nene) Brown, 91, Henderson, passed away at 11:57 a.m. Monday, Dec. 5, 2011, at her home.

She was the oldest member of Hyland Baptist Church. She was a homemaker, had worked at J.C. Penney's, and retired from Hyland Baptist Church. She loved cooking and gardening and was a University of Kentucky fan.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Joseph Brown, who passed away in 1966; her parents, William Wallezer Sr. and Sibbie King Wallezer; and one brother, William "Bub" Wallezer Jr.

Survivors include two daughters, Vickie Brown and Patty Hanley and her husband, Jim, both of Henderson; five grandchildren, Kerry Floyd, Slade Hanley, Necia Garrett, Chelsie Hanley and Jama Hanley; nine great-grandchildren; cousins; nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Virginia and Bob Davidson, Betty and Myrt Pritchett, and Fred and Cleo Brown, all of Henderson.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home. Brother Frank Chandler will officiate. Burial will be in St. Louis Cemetery.

Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today and until service time Thursday at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Hyland Baptist Church.

Pallbearers will be Slade Hanley, Billy Joe Crawford, Jack Crawford, Gary Crawford, Derrick Floyd, Chad Garrett and Cory Staples.
