Kenneth Lee Thurman, 72, Henderson

 

obit3HENDERSON, KY - Kenneth Lee Thurman, 72, Henderson, passed away at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2011, at Methodist Hospital.

He was of the Baptist faith. He retired from Whirlpool Corp. after 41 years. He was a member of the Jerusalem Lodge No. 9.

Mr. Thurman was preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Goldie Thurman.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Nancy King Thurman; one daughter, Darlene Payne of Whiteman AFB, Mo.; one son, Gene Thurman of Henderson; one brother, Allen Thurman Jr. of Dawson Springs; and three grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home. The Rev. Tom Hancock will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

Friends may call after 9 a.m. today at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Jude Children's Hospital.

Pallbearers will be Joe Hagan, Joe Todd Hagan, Jim Chandler, Jim Roll, Rodney Johnson and Dave Stone.
