Virginia (Ginny) Martin, 90, Henderson

 

obit12HENDERSON, KY - Virginia (Ginny) Martin, 90, Henderson, passed away at 6:23 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 24, 2011, at Methodist Hospital.

She was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. She had worked for Henderson County Schools.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James F. Martin, and one son, Donnie Martin.

Survivors include two daughters, Vickie Patterson of Henderson and Diane Shelton of Sebree; five sons, Jimmy Martin of Evansville, Frankie Martin of Woodbridge, Va., Larry Martin and Ralph Martin, both of Smith Mills, and Ricky Martin of Waverly; one brother, Ralph Latta of Augusta, Ga.; 27 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Whitsell Funeral Home in Morganfield. Elder George Jolly will officiate. Burial will be in Smith Mills Cemetery in Smith Mills.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Eric Martin, Rick Martin, Tracey Martin, Richie Martin, Randy Martin and Steve Lehman.
