sunrayHENDERSON, KY - Herbert Robert Cabell, 84, Henderson, passed away at 5:32 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 25, 2011, at Methodist Hospital.

He was a member of Greater Norris Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Henderson, where he served on the Senior Usher Board.

He was employed with the Indiana Laborers Union Local No. 561 in construction.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Solomon Cabell and Margaret Cooper Cabell.

Survivors include his wife, Hattie Cabell; five daughters, Lucy Hancock, Gloria Bushrod, Margaret Howard and Etta Holmes, all of Henderson, and Joyce Murphy of Evansville; two sons, James Bushrod and John Bushrod, both of Henderson; one sister, Josephine Vandyke of Indianapolis; 17 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Greater Norris Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. The Rev. Charles E. Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Fernwood Cemetery

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and after 11 a.m. Friday at the church.

Elliott Mortuary in Madisonville is in charge of arrangements.
