MORGANFIELD, KY - Joseph Adrian Wolfe, 89, Morganfield, passed away at 2:56 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 25, 2011, at Methodist Hospital Union County in Morganfield.
He was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Morganfield. He served in the South Pacific during World War II. He was co-owner of Wolfe's Garage & Body Shop.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William J. and Florence Wolfe, and one son, Daryl Wolfe, who passed away in 2001.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Mary Frances Wolfe; three daughters, Judy Wright, Rita Berry and Linda Baker, all of Morganfield; five sons, Joey Wolfe and Brian Wolfe, both of Morganfield, Ronnie Wolfe of Henderson, Eric Wolfe of Newburgh, Ind., and Bruce Wolfe of Waverly; four sisters, Virginia Powell, Joan Mattox and Rose French, all of Waverly, and Florence Alvey of Morganfield; four brothers, Charlie Wolfe, Justin Wolfe and Eugene Wolfe, all of Morganfield, and Ed Wolfe of Waverly; 24 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Ann Catholic Church. The Rev. Terry Devine will officiate. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery in Morganfield, with full military honors.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and after 8 a.m. Thursday at Whitsell Funeral Home in Morganfield, where prayers will be said at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Travis Wolfe, Jeremy Wolfe, Dennis Wolfe, Scott Wolfe, Nathan Wolfe, Kevin Berry, Landon Wolfe and Derek Baker.
