Herschel F. Gladding, 100, Henderson

 

treesunHENDERSON, KY - Herschel F. Gladding, 100, Henderson, passed away at 7:45 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 1, 2012, at his granddaughter's home.

He was a member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church. He retired from the Chrysler Corp. in 1971. He also was a Kentucky Colonel.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Minnie Gladding, who passed away July 4, 1997; one daughter, Janet Roberts, who passed away Dec. 15, 2002; and one son, Richard Gladding, who passed away Nov. 20, 1993.

Survivors include his six grandchildren, Lisa Duncan, Myrna Wolfe and Jim Roberts, all of Henderson, and Rick Gladding, Brett Gladding and Leigh Gladding, all of Detroit, Mich.; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.

Services will be at noon Thursday at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home.

The Rev. David Simpson will officiate. Burial will be in Fairmont Cemetery.

Friends may call after 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
