Susanne E. (Sue) Butz, 68, Henderson

 

obit10HENDERSON, KY - Susanne E. (Sue) Butz, 68, Henderson, passed away Thursday, Dec. 29, 2011, at her son and daughter-in-law's home in Phoenix after losing her brief battle with cancer.

She loved and attended First Baptist Church in both Wyandotte, Mich., and Henderson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Butz; her parents, Fred and Margie Lashbrook; one brother, Thomas Lashbrook; and two close companions, Sugar and Dusty (Golden Retrievers).

Survivors include two sons, James Butz and his wife, Elizabeth, of Durham, Maine, and Thomas Butz and his wife, Kristina, of Phoenix; five grandchildren, Devon Butz and C.J. Butz, both of Durham, and Jared Butz, Jacob Butz and Jenna Butz, all of Phoenix; her lifelong best friends, Thomas and Nancy Begeman; her guardian angel, Bobbi Montgomery; and Weebee, her beloved African Grey.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Shrine of Remembrance Chapel in Michigan Memorial Park Cemetery in Flat Rock, Mich. The Rev. James Castleman will officiate. Burial will be in Michigan Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may call after 10 a.m. Saturday at the Shrine of Remembrance Chapel in Michigan Memorial Park Cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to First Baptist Church, Dr. Hibbs Sunday school Class, 307 Center St., Henderson, KY 42420.

Arrangements are entrusted to R.J. Nixon Funeral Home in Wyandotte.
