Gerald Wayne (Jerry) Bates Sr., 64, Gallatin

 

obit-sunrisetreeHENDERSON, KY - Gerald Wayne (Jerry) Bates Sr., 64, Gallatin, passed away Thursday, Dec. 22, 2011, at Vanderbilt University Hospital In Nashville.

He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Bates, and one son, Willie Bates.

Survivors include his mother, Lula Mae Walker Dodson of Gallatin; two daughters, Deborah Kessinger of Evansville and Shellie Hazel of Morganfield; two sons, Gerald Wayne Bates Jr. of Robards and Derrik Bates of Cookeville, Tenn.; one brother, Ronnie Bates of Gallatin; one stepbrother, Kenny Bates of Gallatin; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Morganfield.

Whitsell Funeral Home in Morganfield is in charge of arrangements.
