MORGANFIELD, KY - Charles R. "Charlie" Brown, 83, Morganfield, passed away Friday, Jan. 6, 2012, at the Western Kentucky Veterans Center in Hanson.
He was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Morganfield, American Legion, and V.F.W. He was a Korean War Army veteran. He worked as an automobile parts clerk at P'Pool Auto Parts in Morganfield.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Horsley and Georgia E. Clark Brown.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Wilma Coffman Brown; one daughter, Gena M. Brown of Morganfield; one sister, Frances Corbett of New Albany, Ind.; nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Ann Catholic Church in Morganfield. The Rev. Terry Devine will officiate. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery in Morganfield with full military rites.
Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Monday at Whitsell Funeral Home. Prayers will be at 4:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Western Kentucky Veterans Center Activity Fund, 926 Veteran's Dr, Hanson, KY 42413 or to Kosair Children's Hospital.
