Marvin R. Lawson, 87, Henderson

 

HENDERSON, KY - Marvin R. Lawson, 87, Henderson, passed away at 10:24 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, 2012, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville.

He was a member of Airline Baptist Church. He was an entrepreneur involved with sales and advertising and was a member and strong advocate for the Teamsters union. In everything he did, Marvin loved people and especially enjoyed the fellowship involved with being active with various bridge clubs in the Tri-state area.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Bonnie; his parents, Fred and Thelma Lawson; and his daughter, Lynda.

Survivors include two daughters, Julie King of Evansville and Marla Friedman of Florence, Ky.; two sons, John Wayne Lawson of Lexington and Ken M. Lawson of Union, Ky.; five grandchildren, Megan Friedman, Cassie Thomas, Alex Glick, Courtney Keel and Samantha Hobbs; nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Tapp Funeral Home. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to: The Marvin Lawson Education Fund c/o Integra Bank or The Gathering Place in Henderson.
