Welby Jewell Nance, 74, of Hanson, KY

 

nance welbyHANSON, KY - Welby Jewell Nance, 74, of Hanson, KY, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2012 at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville, KY.

He was born June 19, 1937 in Hanson to the late Ott Welby Nance and Eva Grace Rudd Nance.

Mr. Nance was a member of the American Legion and Elks Club. He retired from Goodyear after 25 years of service. He was a 1955 graduate of Hanson High School.

He is survived by his wife, Flo D. Coker Nance; two daughters, deAnn (Steve) Foster of Scottsville, KY, and Cynthia (John A.) LaMure of Hanson; one brother, Gary Nance of Hanson; five grandchildren, Samantha (Jarrod) Foster, Jennifer Foster, Sarah Foster, all of Scottsville, and Joseph LaMure and Anna LaMure, both of Hanson; and two nieces, Sheri Kipling and Candy Nance.

Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 28, 2012, at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Rev. W.M. Moore officiating. Burial will follow in East Lawn Cemetery in Hanson. Military honors will be performed by the Hopkins County Honor Guard.

Visitation will be 3:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Monday and after 10:00 A.M. until the service time on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be John A. LaMure, Joseph LaMure, Steve Foster, Jarrod Foster, Jacob Sexton, and Robert Weller.
