Mildred Parker, 78, of Hanson, KY

 

PARKER MILDREDHOPKINS COUNTY, KY - Mildred Parker, 78, of Hanson, KY, passed away Monday, February 27, 2012 at her residence in Hanson.

She was born May 22, 1933 in Christian County, KY to the late Edgar Capps and Jessie Hammontree Capps. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Billy Parker in 2007; one son, Thomas Owen Parker; four brothers, Chester, Allen, Garland, and Edwin Capps; and one si    ster, Lucille Capps.

Mrs. Parker was a member of the Emberry United Methodist Church. She worked in the lunch room at Hanson school for 37 years. She loved her grandchildren and enjoyed bird watching and fishing.

She is survived by one daughter, Cheri (Danny) Ashby of Hanson; one son, Billy (Sharmari) Parker of Hanson; one sister, Lela Hibbs; five grandchildren, Jamie (Charles) Harper, Jared (Lindie) Ashby, Will Parker, Daphne Parker, Chloe Parker; and two great grandchildren, Brennan and Aiden Harper.

Funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, February 29, 2012, at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Rev. Maurice Lisanby officiating. Burial will follow in Clearview Cemetery in Vandetta, KY.

Visitation will be 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Tuesday and after 9:00 A.M. until the service time on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made to Green River Hospice or the Alzheimer’s Association. Envelopes will be made available at the funeral home.
