Nell Gregory Farthing, 93, of Madisonville, KY

 

farthing nelMADISONVILLE, KY - Nell Gregory Farthing, 93, of Madisonville, KY, passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at her residence. She was born July 12, 1918 in Michigan City, MS to the late Ben Forester and Ada Fleet Forester.

She was also preceded in death by her husbands, C.P. Gregory in 1977 and R.J. Farthing in 2005, and two brothers.

Mrs. Farthing was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Madisonville. She was also a member of the OES and past Worthy Matron of Madisonville Chapter 390. She was an employee of Enro Shirt Factory for 23 years.

She was survived by her children, James Gregory of Hanson; Harold Gregory of Hanson; Peggy Graham of Madisonville; Marjorie Thompson of Madisonville; Brenda Collins of Madisonville; Carolyn Gentry Gish of Murray, KY; David Gregory of Berea, KY and Terry Gregory of Henderson; 18 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 1:00 P.M. Friday, March 16, 2012, at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Rev. J.D. Holt and Rev. Roy Finley officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens

Visitation will be 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Thursday and after 11:00 A.M. until the service time on Friday at the funeral home. There will be an Eastern Star service at 6:00 P.M. Thursday.

Pallbearers will be Eric Huddleston, Clint Gentry, Mark Gentry, Phillip Gregory, James Gregory, and Heath Cox.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Green River Hospice. Envelopes will be made available at the funeral home.
