Harold Granville Morris Sr., 81, of Madisonville, KY

 

morris HaroldMADISONVILLE, KY - Harold Granville Morris Sr., 81, of Madisonville, KY, passed away Sunday, March 11, 2012 at the Veterans Center, Hanson, KY.

He was born November 12, 1930 in Ohio County, KY to the late Clarence and Oma Lucille Edwards Morris. He was also preceded in death by step-father, Robert Davenport; one sister, Reda Raymer; and one grandson, Benjamin Bray.

Mr. Morris was a Navy Veteran, retired from Consol Coal Co., a KY Colonel, a member of Hanson Masonic Lodge 766, the Scottish Rite of Madisonville, American Legion Post 6, and The National Association of Destroyers Veterans (Tin Can Sailors) and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Madisonville.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Hancock Morris of Madisonville; one daughter, Patricia Ann (Jack) Morris Crouch of Salado, TX; two sons, Grant (Amanda) Morris of Bowling Green, KY, and John Morris of Nashville, TN; step-son, Clifton (Delores) Alexander of Madisonville; one grandson, Elliott Morris of Bowling Green; one step-granddaughter, Emerald Alexander Striplin; one great-granddaughter, Abbigail Ann Bray; one step-great-granddaughter, Melody Rae Striplin; one half-brother, Michael Lee Morris; one step-brother, Donald Ray (Mary Elizabeth) Foster; and several nieces and nephews.

There will be no visitation or services per Harold’s wishes. Interment will be at a later date in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Madisonville. Funeral arrangements handled at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home.

Memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
