Josie Juanita Witherspoon, age 86, of Henderson, formerly of Madisonville

witherspoon JHOPKINS COUNTY, KY - Josie Juanita Witherspoon, 86, of Henderson, KY formerly of Madisonville, KY passed away Thursday, March 14, 2012 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN.

She was born September 30, 1925 in Providence, KY to the late Joseph Andrew Curry and Burah Pearl Martin Curry. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Willie Witherspoon, one son, Darren Witherspoon, one sister, Mary Francis Isaccson, and two brothers, Darrell Curry and Drexel Curry.

She was part owner of Witherspoon T.V. Sales Service. She was a very loving mother. She also loved animals, gardening, and auctions.

She is survived by two daughters, Youlanda (Jerry) Coffman of Henderson and Linda Sue (Joe) Towery of Henderson; three sons, Billy Joe (Donna) Witherspoon of Bowling Green, KY, Louis Witherspoon of Madisonville and Donald Witherspoon of Madisonville; one sister, Eva Lou Bowles of Madisonville; two brothers, Doug Curry of Lansing, MI and Dennis Curry of Greenville, KY ; ten grandchildren, Dina (Jerald) Winstead of Henderson, Holly (Steve) Gold of Henderson, Susan (Brian) Davis of Louisville, KY and Lara Hudson of Crestwood, KY; Nathan Witherspoon, Jeremy Witherspoon, Bradley Witherspoon, Rebekah (Cody) Bean, Kristan Witherspoon of Madisonville and Justice Witherspoon of Newburgh, IN and thirteen great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Dr. Dave Leslie officiating. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery.

Visitation will be 2:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. Sunday and after 9:00 A.M. Monday at the funeral home. witPallbearers will be the grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to the Humane Society or the Diabetes Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
