Billye Adair Hinton, 87, of Madisonville, KY

 

hinton billyeMADISONVILLE, KY - Billye Adair Hinton, 87, of Madisonville, KY, passed away Saturday, March 17, 2012 at Ridgewood Terrace Nursing Home in Madisonville.

She was born February 1, 1925 in Washington, IN, to the late Clifford Allen and Betha Marie Stites Allen. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Paul Hinton and one brother, Clifford (Mac) Allen.

Mrs. Hinton was member of the First Baptist Church in Madisonville where she attended the Couples Sunday School Class and was Past President of the Young at Heart. She was a life member of the Girl Scouts of America and a professional Scouter with the Pennyroyal Council, she volunteered at the Glema Mahr Center, the Salvation Army and was a member of the Madisonville Lion’s Club.

Billye is survived by two daughters, Cindy Messmer (grandchildren – Eric, Lori, Miranda, and Cassandra) and Connie (Joe) Atkinson (grandchildren – Ben, Aaron, and Shawna.); three stepdaughters, Paula Jennings (Mike), Pat Menser (Mike), and Janet Price (Charles); 18 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; six step grandchildren; five step great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, March 21, 2012, at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Dr. Joe Leonard officiating. Burial will follow at 1:00 P.M. in The Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West in Hopkinsville, KY.

Pallbearers will be Eric Messmer, Ben Atkinson, Aaron Atkinson, Devon Morris, Daron Morris and Stefon Messmer.

Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Tuesday at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home and after 9:00 A.M. Wednesday until the service time.
