moore jimmDAWSON SPRINGS, KY - Rev. Jimmie Lee Moore, age 79, of Dawson Springs, KY, went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at 11:48 P.M. at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville, KY.

Rev. Moore was born September 26, 1932 in Sturgis, KY to the late Herschel and Bertha Moore. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years ~ Faye Merrill Moore(departed 12/3/2009); and two brothers ~ Darrell Dee Moore and Charles Denver Moore.

Survivors include two sons ~ Jimmy Wayne Moore of Nortonville, KY, Terry Randall Moore of Dawson Springs, KY and one son & daughter-in-law ~ Timothy Steven & Denise Moore; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one sister ~ Barbara Sue Ford & her husband Harold.

Rev. Moore served as pastor and evangelist for over 45 years. His pastorates included: Caldwell, Christian, Hopkins, Muhlenberg & Todd Counties. He was a member of Union Temple General Baptist Church.

Rev. Moore was also employed by Peabody Coal Company and retired from Island Creek Coal Company.

Jimmie’s family and friends will remember him as a simple man - one that enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing sports with his sons and grandsons. He especially enjoyed worshipping and fellowshipping with his Christian brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be Monday, March 19, 2012 from 5:00 – 9:00 P.M. and Tuesday, March 20, 2012 from 9:00 A.M. – 2:00 P.M. at Beshear Funeral Home in Dawson Springs, Kentucky. Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at Beshear Funeral Home with Rev. Leon Smith officiating, assisted by the Rev. J.W. Haire. Burial will follow in Gilland Ridge Cemetery in St. Charles, Kentucky.

His sons and grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Harold Ford, Ray Collier and Tim Stanley will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Gideons International. Forms will be available at the funeral home.
