MANITOU, KY - Kaye J. Clark, 76, of Manitou, Kentucky went to be with God at 3:25 am on Sunday, March 25, 2012 at Regional Medical Center after a lengthy battle with kidney disease and cancer.
Born August 21, 1935 in Henderson County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Ernest Clark and Georgia Carter Clark. He was a 1953 graduate of Nebo High School and a United States Army veteran. Mr. Clark was a retired dispatcher and over the road hauler for Chappell Trucking. Prior to working independently in the trucking industry, he was an accomplished member of the automobile sales force, working with dealers both here and in Indiana. He was a member of Concord General Baptist Church, the C.S. Hoffman Masonic Lodge #252 F&AM in Nebo, KY., and a former member of the Madisonville Rotary Club.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Marcy Jo McDowell Hayes and infant twin grand-daughters Care-Lynn and Tara-Leigh.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Marcella Clark of Manitou; two sons, Timothy Clark of Madisonville and Mark (Brenda) McDowell of Manitou; two sisters, Mrs. Judy Gates and Mrs. Linda (Mike) McNeily both of Manitou; four grandchildren; 'two great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, March 28, 2012, at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Rev. Eddie Fleming and Rev. Charges Lutz officiating.
Burial will follow in Concord Church Cemetery in Manitou.
Pall bearers will be grandson, Lane McDowell; nephews Tony Gates and Eric McNeily; brother-in-law, Michael McNeily; cousins Colby Carter and Willy Carter.
Honorary pall bearers will be grandsons Landon and Austin McDowell.
Friends may visit Tuesday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Tuesday and Wednesday noon until the funeral hour.
