HOPKINS COUNTY, KY - Virginia (Tinsy) Cotton, age 95, of Symsonia, KY., formerly of Dawson Springs, KY., passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2012, at her residence in Symsonia, KY. Born December 19, 1916 in Hopkins Co., KY., she was a member of Charleston Missionary Baptist Church in Charleston, KY. Ms. Cotton was a foster grandparent for the Dawson Springs School System.

She was the daughter of the late Gain Henry Cotton and the late Jennie (Morris) Cotton.

She is survived by: Five Daughters: Sandra Lantrip, Symsonia, KY., Patsy Convoy, Symsonia, KY., Phyllis Helmkamp, Marion, KY., Debra Brown, Orange Park, FL, Rebecca Blanchard, Gilbertsville, KY.; grandchildren: Hope Jones, Gilbertsville, KY., Beth Convoy, Nashville, TN, Ronnie Beavers, Mexico, KY., Pamela Turley, Marion, KY., Patty Guess, Marion, KY., Melissa Wallace, Hardmony, KY., Jim Brown, Milani, Hawaii, John Brown, Orange Park, FL, Michelle Adcock, Louisville, KY., Bart Rushing, Madisonville, KY., and step-grandchildren: Roni Sisk, Princeton, KY., Mi'Chell Huddleston, Eddyville, KY.; 26 great grandchildren; 1 step great grandchild; and 11 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her brothers: Cecil Cotton, Eugene Cotton, Bill Cotton, Omer Cotton, Melvin Cotton, Garland Cotton, sister: Elsie Thomas, and grandchild: Donnie Beavers.

Arrangements are being handled by Collier Funeral Home, P.O. Box 492, Benton, KY.

Graveside Funeral service will be at Piney Grove Cemetery, Dawson Springs, KY. at 11:00 AM, Friday, March 30, 2012, Rev. Faris Sahawneh officiating.

Interment will follow at Piney Grove Cemetery, Dawson Springs, KY.

No public visitation is scheduled.
