Cordelia Evelyn Gordon, age 75, of Madisonville

GORDON CORDEILAHOPKINS COUNTY, KY - Cordelia Evelyn Gordon, age 75, of Madisonville passed away Friday, April 27, 2012  at her residence.

She was born August 26, 1936 in Hopkins County, Ky to the late Goldman Poe and Cammie Littlepage Poe. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Allen Poe and Thomas Poe and a half brother, Buddy Poe.

Gordon was a member of the Concord General Baptist Church in Manitou and a Kentucky Colonel.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Gordon of Madisonville; one daughter, Michelle McFadden of Madisonville; three sons, Gregory Gordon and Timothy Gordon both of Madisonville and Chuck Gordon of Dawson Springs, Ky; six sisters, Barbara Morrow of Earlington, Ky, Elsie Marshall of Oregon, Julie Poe of Madisonville, Alberta Evans of Coiltown, Ky, Janie Beshears of Hanson, Ky and Gwen Turner of Madisonville; one brother, Danny L. Poe of Madisonville; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Monday, April 30, 2012, at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Bro. Eddie Fleming officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Madisonville.

Visitation will be 1 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday and after 11:00 a.m. until the service time on Monday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Green River Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
