Jeffrey Alan Arnold, 50, of Madisonville, KY

obit Arnold JeffHOPKINS COUNTY, KY - Jeffrey Alan Arnold, 50, of Madisonville, KY was called home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, April 30, 2012. He passed away at his residence after a valiant battle with cancer.

He was born on September 17, 1961 in Madisonville, KY to Norma Jones Arnold and the late Marvin "Sig" Arnold. He was a graduate of North Hopkins High School and received his associate degree in science at the University of Kentucky. And also received his bachelors of science degree in business at Mid-Continent University. He was a registered respiratory therapist and a polysomnographic technician and was employed in the sleep lab at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville. He also worked PRN at Methodist Hospital in Henderson, KY and in the home medical field.

He loved sports and was a huge fan of the Kentucky Wildcats and the Chicago Cubs. He coached junior pro basketball at Charleston School and West Hopkins Little League Baseball. He also coached Madisonville Junior Pro Basketball, YAA baseball and YMCA soccer. He was a member of Pleasant Valley Church in Providence, KY.

In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Sandra Jenkins Friend.

He is survived by his wife of thirty-two years, Charlotte Jenkins Arnold; his mother, Norma Jones Arnold of Madisonville; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Cleatus and Paulean Jenkins of Charleston, KY; step-mother, Eloise Maloney of Anton, KY; four sons, Stephen (Stephanie) Arnold, David (Sarah) Arnold both of Madisonville, Brian (Katie) Arnold of Providence and Daniel (Holly) Arnold of Torrance, CA; his sister, Susan (Don) Buchanan of White House, TN; his brother, Mike (Susanne) Arnold of Lexington, KY; five grandchildren, Rebekah Arnold, Isabella Arnold both of Madisonville, Jeremiah Arnold of California, Kayden Jeffrey Arnold of Providence and Stephen Michael Arnold of Madisonville; he was also anticipating the arrival of twin grandsons due in September; two nephews, John Arnold and Henry Arnold both of Lexington; his niece, Jennifer (Luke) Basham of Kaiserslautern, Germany; great-nephew, Vincent Basham of Kaiserslautern; and his great-niece, Sydney Basham of Kaiserslautern.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 4, 2012 in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Rev. Laddie Pride officiating and Bro. Johnny Davis assisting. Burial to follow in New Beulah Cemetery in Beulah, KY.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. until the funeral hour Friday at Harris Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Van Austin, Joe Britt, Brent Clayton, Treg Long, Tom Pennigton and Steve Young. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Joey Farmer, Dale Mathes, Chuck Mulethaler, Andy Roberts and Jarrett Young.
