J. C.(Skeeter) Stewart, age 91, of Charleston, KY

obit stewartHOPKINS COUNTY, KY - J. C.(Skeeter) Stewart, age 91, of Charleston, KY, passed away at 9:10 A.M. on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at the Regional Medical Center, Madisonville, KY.

Mr. Stewart was born on June 23, 1920 in Muhlenberg County, KY to his late parents, Eli Stewart and Lelia Forester Stewart. He worked and retired with the Maintenance Department with Hopkins County Schools; however, previously, he worked for Swift Meat Packing in Evansville, IN. He was a member of the Charleston Missionary Baptist Church.

Mr. Stewart is survived by his wife of 69 years, Lena Stewart of Charleston, KY; one daughter and son-in-law, Shelia (David) Densmore of Charleston, KY, and two sons and daughters-in-law, James “Jimmy” (Judy) Stewart of Rabbit Ridge, KY, and Larry (Deborah) Stewart of Charleston, KY; six grandchildren~ Keith Stewart, Kay Gipson, Steve Stewart, Lee Cole, Leslie Patterson and Lori Allen; ten great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Preceding Mr. Stewart in death are his parents and eleven brothers and sisters.

Visitation for Mr. Stewart will be Friday, May 4, 2012 from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. and Saturday, May 5, 2012 from 9:00 A.M. until the funeral hour at 11:00 A.M. at Beshear Funeral Home in Dawson Springs, KY. Dr. Calvin Bryant will be officiating. Burial will follow in Dunn Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Keith Stewart, Steve Stewart, Harlan Gipson, Bruce Cole, Bart Allen and Hunter Gipson.
