Mildred (Modell) Knox, 86, of Madisonville, KY

 

HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. - Mildred (Modell) Knox, 86, of Madisonville, KY passed away at 9:35 a.m. on Tuesday, December 25, 2012 at NHC Healthcare of Madisonville.

She was born on June 1, 1926 in Morganfield, KY to the late Mary Ellen Wilson Christian and James Wallace Wilson. She was a devoted homemaker and loving mother to her children. She was a member of Suthards Christian Church in Earlington, KY.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Knox; her sister, Margaret Gordon; three brothers, John Wilson, Roy Wilson and Bobby Wilson.

She is survived by her son, Jimmy (Linda) Knox of Madisonville; two daughters, Jane Ellen (Wendell) Gatlin and Joy Knox both of Madisonville; her sister, Jonell Wrigley of Trivoli, IL; her granddaughter, Ashley (Ricky) Hook of Madisonville; two grandsons, Eric Gatlin of Nashville, TN and Ethan Knox of Lexington, KY; two great-grandsons, Colby Patterson and Will Hook of Madisonville.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, December 28, 2012 in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Bro. Brad Tucker officiating. Burial to follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville.

Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. until the funeral hour Friday at Harris Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Eric Gatlin, Ethan Knox, Colby Patterson, Ricky Hook, Anthony Wilson and Cliff Wilson.

Memorial contributions may be made to Suthards Christian Church Building Fund.
