HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. - Charles Newton Stephens, 89, of Madisonville passed away Friday December 28, 2012 at NHC Healthcare in Madisonville. He was born July 30, 1923 in Suthards, Ky.

He was a member of the First Christian Church , Earlington, Ky. He owned a music distribution business in Chicago, Ill. He was a WWII Navy veteran (Gunner mate 1st class). He was an Antique dealer and a member of numerous Antique clubs.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Isaac Newton Stephens and Rosa Todd Stephens. His wife of many years Helen Wolfe Stephens and wife of later years Georgia Cunniff Stephens. One sister Hazel Wyatt and two brothers Jewell Stephens and Louis Carlos Stephens

He is survived by one daughter Teresa Faye King (Michael) of Madisonville, KY, one brother William Stephens, Evansville, Indiana and one sister Thelma Furgerson of University Park, Pa. One grandson, Brandon Michael King of Old Fort, TN and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held Thursday January 3 at 11:00 AM at Reid-Walters Funeral Home in Earlington, Ky. with Rev. Biff Blackburn of Louisville officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday January 2 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the funeral home and from 9:00 AM on Thursday until service time. Burial will be in New Suthards Cemetery, Suthards, KY
