HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. - Charlene Mae Reliford, 69, of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away peacefully surrounded by her four children January 4, 2013. Charlene was born April 5, 1943 in Ashland, Illinois, the daughter of the late Darrell and Martha Walker.

She is survived by her brother Johnny Walker of Union, KY, her four children, Breck Reliford, Georgetown, KY; Elizabeth Armstrong, Madisonville, KY; Vanessa Mitchell..., Las Vegas, Nevada; and Bradley Reliford, Nashville, Tennessee. Charlene was the proud grandmother of five grandchildren; Hannah, Rachel, Sam, Sarah, and Monique, and three great grandchildren; Bryson, Andrea, and Emma who all lovingly referred to her as GiGi.

Charlene was a long time resident of Madisonville, where she was a member of the 1st United Methodist Church. She spent several years as the director of the United Way of Madisonville, and also worked at Ligon for many years.

Charlene’s family and friends will be celebrating her life on January 19, 2013 at the American Legion from 1-5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to the United Way of the Coalfield in her name.
