Harold Thomas Taylor, 80, of Madisonville, KY

HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. - Harold Thomas Taylor, 80, of Madisonville, KY passed away at 1:25 p.m. on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN.

He was born on September 11, 1932 in Madisonville, KY to the late Mary and Seldon Taylor. He was a coal miner for many years retiring from South Hopkins Coal. He was a member of John T. Crandell Masonic Lodge #457 in Central City, KY and was a member of First Baptist Church in Madisonville.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Alton Taylor and Louis Taylor; and his sister, Nell McElvain.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-nine years, Alma Jean Taylor; three sons, Anthony (Janice) Taylor of Hanson, KY, Steve (Tammy) Taylor of Madisonville and Bruce (Melissa) Taylor of Hanson; two sisters, Jean Davis, of Sacramento, KY and Helen Wyatt of Earlington, KY; his brother, Randel Taylor of Fort Myers, FL; seven grandchildren, Drew Taylor, Chris Taylor, Jacob Taylor, Caleb Taylor, Stephanie Taylor, Kyleigh Taylor, Kyndal Taylor; his great-grandchild, Zoe Taylor; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 18, 2013 in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home in Madisonville with Dr. Joe Leonard officiating and Dr. Monroe Slaton assisting. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery in Madisonville. Pallbearers will be the grandsons and nephews.

Visitation will be held at 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. until the funeral hour Friday at Harris Funeral Home. Masonic rites services will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
