Jo Ann Messamore Travis, 79, of Madisonville, KY

HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. - Jo Ann Messamore Travis, 79, of Madisonville, KY passed away Friday, January 25, 2013 at Baptist Health Madisonville.

She was born August 20, 1933 in Hopkins County, KY to the late Malbert Doy Messamore and Agnes Robards Messamore. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Messamore.

Mrs. Travis was a member of: Concord General Baptist Church, Daughters of the Nile, Temple #80, and the C.S. Coffman Eastern Star #211.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Grover Travis; three sons, Barry (Amy) Travis of Metropolis, IL, Terry Travis and his companion Laurie Minton of Anton, KY and Steven (Stacey Jo Walker) Travis of Greenville, SC; one brother, Donald Messamore of Virginia; 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren and 3 step great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, January 29, 2013, at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Bro. Eddie Fleming officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Monday and 9:00 A.M. until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home.
