Hugh H. Cartwright, 93, of Madisonville, Ky

HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. - Hugh H. Cartwright, 93, of Madisonville, Ky passed away at 9 a.m. on Monday, January 28, 2013 at his nieces home in Georgetown, KY.

He was born on July 10, 1919 in Rochester, KY to the late Archer Cartwright and Sibble Hartis Cartwright. He was a United States Army Veteran serving during World War II. He loved music and was the bass singer in the Cartwright Brothers Quartet. He was retired as a night watchman with the Kentucky Department of Transportation and was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Keever Cartwright, J.D. Cartwright and Warren Cartwright.

He is survived by his God chosen daughters, Leah (Aaron) Cartwright Sander of Georgetown, KY and Lisa (Jim) Brennan of Houston, TX; two sisters, Sylvia Cartwright of Rabbit Ridge, KY and Lois Finson of Madisonville; his brother, Wayne Cartwright of El Paso, TX; several nieces and nephews; and two special girls in his life, Abbott Renfro and Hollyn Renfro of Georgetown, KY.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 1, 2013 at Pleasant View Baptist Church in Madisonville with Rev. Terry Chaney officiating and Rev. Kerry Smith and Rev. Laddie Pride assisting.Military honors will be conducted graveside by 101st Airborne Division Ft. Campbell, KY and Hopkins County Honor Guard. Burial to follow in Grapevine Cemetery in Madisonville.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday at Harris Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. until the funeral hour Friday at Pleasant View Baptist Church.

Pallbearers will be Aaron Sander, Mikel Cartwright, Jeff Cartwright, Donnie Cartwright, Jud Cartwright and Jake Cartwright.

Memorial contributions may be made to pleasant View Baptist Church and Hospice of the Bluegrass 1317 U.S. Hwy 626 Cynthiana, KY 41031. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
