HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. - James E. (J.J.) Jennings, 63, of Madisonville, KY, passed away Sunday, February 17, 2013 at Baptist Health in Madisonville.
He was born January 15, 1950 to the late Sam and Jesse Frances Offutt Jennings. He was also preceded in death by a brother in law, Dr. E.S. Coleman.
Mr. Jennings was a Navy Vietnam Veteran and a self-employed mechanic, a member of the Western KY Power Association, 2 Cylinder Club, and Bethlehem Christian Church, where he previously served as a deacon. He was also a KY Colonel and enjoyed restoring antique John Deere tractors.
He is survived by his wife, Bobbie Jennings of Madisonville; one daughter, Stephanie (Andy) Crawford of Madisonville; two grandchildren, Shelby and Casey Crawford both of Madisonville; three sisters, Linda Coleman and Elaine Revelett both of Sacramento, KY and Sue Baxter of Madisonville.
Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at Barnett-Strother Funeral home with Bro. Steve Sandefur and Barry Slaton officiating. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by the Hopkins County Honor Guard.
Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at the funeral home and after 12:00 until service time on Wednesday.
Pallbearers will be Shannon Coleman, Bruce Baldwin, Reese Revelett, Daryl Revelett, Mark Offutt, Jamie Rickard. Honorary Pallbearers will be Butch Clayton, Kenneth Hancock, Bob Brown, Chris Rickard, and Daniel Cartwright.
