Robert Owen Bean, 61, of Madisonville, KY

 

HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. - Robert Owen Bean, 61, of Madisonville, KY, passed away Monday, February 25, 2013 at Baptist Health in Madisonville.

He was born September 30, 1951 in Hopkins Co., KY to Estelle Huggins Bean of Madisonville and the late Elmer Wilbur Bean. He was also preceded in death by a son, David Bean in 2002 and a sister, Lana Faye Schmaltz in 1999.

Mr. Bean was a member of Grapevine Baptist Church in Madisonville. He was a US Army Vietnam Veteran and a member of the American Legion Post 6. He loved to fish, cook on the grill and spend time with his family and friends and eat.

He is survived by one son, Mark Bean of Earlington, KY; step-son, Robert Cuppet; one sister, Cindy Bean of Madisonville; three brothers, Dennis (Mary) Bean of Madisonville; Roger Keith (Susie) Bean of Benton, KY; and Joseph W. Bean of Louisville, KY; and one step-grandson, Tanner Cuppet.

Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, February 28, 2013 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Rev. Greg Gaddis officiating. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery.

Visitation will be 10:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Bean, Joseph Bean, Johnny Johnson, Nathan Miller, Davis Miller and Isabella Miller.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Grapevine Baptist Church Building Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
