Charles Walker, 81, of Hopkinsville, KY

HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. - Charles Walker, 81, of Hopkinsville, KY, passed away Thursday, March 7 2013 at Covington's Convalescent & Rehab Center of Hopkinsville.

He was born November 24, 1931 in Paris, TN to the late Burrow James and Iva Miranda McDaniels Walker.

Mr. Walker was a member of 1st Christian Church of Hopkinsville, enjoyed woodworking, a fan of UT and UK Basketball, and was a member of the Grove High School Class of 1949 where he played for the football team that went undefeated his senior year. He was also an US Army Veteran where he served as a Sergeant in the Medical Corp.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Faye Ledbetter Walker; three daughters, Janet Walker of Madisonville, J'Nese West and Paige (Shawn) Higdon both of Owensboro, KY; one son, Jay (Debbie) Walker of Paris, TN; one step-daughter, Kellie Miller of Madisonville; one step-son, Buddy Cardwell of Morganfield, KY; one sister, Jean (E.A.) Cloar of Paris, TN; one brother, Bill Walker of Paris, TN; eleven grandchildren; and thirteen great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 9, 2013, with Rev. Guy McComb officiating. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Madisonville.

Visitation will be 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Friday March 8, 2013, and from noon until the funeral hour on Saturday.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hopkins County Relay for Life. Envelopes will be made available at the funeral home.
