Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Arrest of Drakesboro Resident

drug arrest 03 300MUHLENBERG COUNTY, KY (3/23/13) – On March 22, 2013, Kentucky State Police (KSP) Trooper Curtis Crick conducted a traffic stop on a 200 Ford Expedition, operated by 33-year-old John D. Reid of Drakesboro, on HWY 431 South within the limits of Browder.

Once Trooper Crick approached Reid’s vehicle, it was found that Reid was under the influence of drugs. Reid was placed under arrest. The Muhlenberg County K9 Unit was called to the scene and the dog alerted on the passenger side door of the vehicle. Approximately two grams of suspected Meth, 68 Hydrocodone pills and drug paraphernalia was found.

Reid was charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 2nd Degree 1st Offense (Drug Unspecified), Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree Methamphetamine, Operating a Motor Vehicle under the Influence of Alcohol/Drugs 3rd Offense (Aggravated Circumstances) and Careless Driving .

Reid was lodged in the Muhlenberg County Detention Center
