HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. - Katherine Elizabeth Aumen, age 85, of Dawson Springs, KY passed away on Friday, March 22, 2013 at Tradewater Health and Rehab Center, Dawson Springs, KY. She was born in Las Cruces, New Mexico, on December 22, 1927 to the late Philip Earl Neale and Celestine Elizabeth Roach Neale. Mrs. Aumen received a BS in Home Economics from New Mexico State in 1950 and worked with the El Paso Natural Gas Co. as a Home Economist Representative for many years. She was a creative artist and painted many oil paintings. Additionally, she styled and crafted ceramic pottery and Western Indian dolls. She was of Episcopalian Faith, and enjoyed attending services at the Dawson Springs First Baptist Church in Dawson Springs, KY.

Mrs. Aumen is survived by her loving husband of 42 years~ Robert Aumen, Dawson Springs, KY, a daughter~ Sally Jackman, Dawson Springs, KY, and a son and daughter-in-law~ Kenneth “Lee” Browne, Jr. and Sharon, Nevada, and two sons~ Robert Neale Browne and Gregory Fletcher Brown of Phoenix, Arizona, sister~ Margaret Parker, Los Alamos, New Mexico, ten grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.

Mrs. Aumen is preceded in death by her parents, brother~ Philip Earl Neale, Jr., and daughter, Debra Browne.

Funeral services for Katherine Elizabeth Aumen will be conducted by the Rev. Randall Rogers on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Beshear Funeral Home in Dawson Springs. Friends may call at her visitation beginning on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 from 11:00 AM until the funeral hour, 1:00 PM, at Beshear Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the West KY Veteran’s Cemetery in Hopkinsville, KY.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, 960 Industrial Park Rd., Dawson Springs, KY 42408. Envelopes will be available at Beshear Funeral Home.
